Security baselines come in two forms: predefined advice in the form of Group Policy Objects that you can consume and use on-prem and, now, predefined advice you can use inside an MDM service like Intune. Security baselines are a smorgasbord of settings, served up all at once. Security baselines are, quite simply, “good advice” from Microsoft to ensure that Windows 10's settings are set up to defend from the most common attacks. This chapter focuses on the layers of “tried and true” security technologies, delivered by your MDM service.
